Respect for the environment has always been a major concern at Chateau Vermont. It is not a fashionable effect, we always have at heart to take care of our environment. Our approach is consistent with our way of working and our convictions. This certification is proof of our commitment to the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity.

But what does this certification really mean?

This certification is based on obligations of results measured by environmental performance indicators.

In this sense, we have a reasoned agricultural practice on the farm with :

• Water resources management
• The phytosanitary strategy
• The important presence of biodiversity elements (trees, flowers, insects...).

We treat our vines with products authorized in Organic Agriculture, in the respect of the environment. We implement a technicality more beneficial to the quality of the soils, the vine and consequently, of our wines with the objective of preserving a natural harmony on the whole property, as well within as around the plots.

What is the importance of this label?

Being BEE FRIENDLY certified will mean that we comply with a set of 27 precise and measurable criteria such as the creation of biodiversity preservation zones, guaranteed traceability, partnerships with beekeepers, a total ban on the use of the most toxic pesticides for bees and many others.

Numerous scientific studies show that the bee is mainly endangered by intensive agriculture: the use of harmful pesticides and the loss of biodiversity.

Our goal?
To act, to commit ourselves in order to better protect bees through good practices and to have a sustainable agriculture preserving biodiversity and pollinators.
